Just as countries draw swords against each other, so peoples within countries also started brandishing swords at each other. I came up with this title after I was reminded of the poetry of Abu Tammam, “Habib bin Aws bin Al-Harith Al-Tai,” the Abbasid poet born in the village of Jassim in the Syrian Houran between “803-845 AD.”

 

The most important line of his poem, which the nations circulated, until the moment, while describing the Battle of Amorite against the Romans in 838 AD: “The sword is more truthful than books, its edge is the limit between seriousness and play.” Here I must also seek help from the Arab thinker Ibn Rushd, who said: (Trade in religions is profitable trade. The work of great leaders lies in influencing others with the soft force that penetrates their minds instead of the bullets that open holes in their bodies. Have we lost the ability to distinguish between reality and fantasy? Between the outcomes of war and the achievements of peace? For your information, man is the only creature that is ashamed, because he is also the only creature that does what is ashamed, and the majority of human beings are oblivious to that, looking forward to the future without realizing that it is a past that we narrate with renewed faces. Do we have any other explanation? What do our repeated collapses mean when we believe that we are making progress at the expense of declines? That is, we correct our mistakes, and soon we fall back into them, and it is known that the abundance of sanctities and the proliferation of clerics means the spread of ignorance, the emergence of hatred, the disappearance of creativity, the riding of swords in preparation for combat, separation, and retreat behind the shields.

 

Does originality accompany modernity? What does stupid entertainment coming from backwardness mean? What does ignorance mean when it wears the guise of enlightenment? Is it true that creative ideas represent attractive elements of life? Here I enter into a dialogue about human brains that innovate in collapse, and get lost between bliss and the search for their salvation from the hell that their thoughts create, which turned everyone into enemies, until he reached the point of saying: There are no friendships at the summits, but rather disputes that roll over to destroy the rules and foundations.

 

O people, hold on tight and do not allow the rude human minds to destroy our seeds and roots, because they seek to erase our struggle and call on us to abandon our souls, so blasphemous, which the great spirit and total energy have given us through the eternal light that gave us vision, and through it movement and insight so that we can continue. I believe that you You will stand by awareness and wisdom. Even if you carry the sword of Abu Tammam, no action you have committed will disappear or be forgotten. So where will all the philosophy of love, memories, important situations, friendships, noise, madness, immorality, joy, sadness, death, and life go?

 

Will we continue to cling to Abu Tammam’s sword and for how long? Isn’t it enough, when we realize that it is a past that carried pains and sins, even if there was some life in it, shouldn’t we think about the present, construction, and tomorrow, or do we want to destroy it, as the French international painter “Joseph Desire Court” did in his painting (The Flood), taken from what was stated in The Old Testament about the flood, in which a young man appeared trying to save an old man with a long beard, while neglecting to save his wife and child.

 

The old man symbolizes the past, his beard symbolizes heritage, and the mother and child symbolize the present and the future. The precise meaning is “Whoever clings to the past loses the future.” The more precise meaning is that Saving the old sheikh in this painting represents the dark age in which the clergy were sanctified and prioritized over the family and everything else, while the woman represents life, and her child whom she is trying to save represents the future.
